Having high cholesterol is not always bad. There are two types of cholesterol: LDL (low density lipoproteins), which is commonly referred to as bad cholesterol and HDL (high density lipoproteins), the good cholesterol. The reason why LDLs are bad for the body is because they block blood flow to major organs (kidneys, liver, brain, genitals) by promoting plaque buildup in the arteries, which can lead to heart disease. HDLs are good for the body because they take the unused cholesterol back to the liver, which helps the body remove it. Here are some remedies to regulate your LDL and HDL levels.
- Take bioflavonoids 4000 mg. with vitamin C once a day to thin the blood and to improve the circulation.
- Take 1 teaspoon of chicory root and combine it with ½ teaspoon of fenugreek seeds, 1 teaspoon of lime flowers, ½ teaspoon ginger rhizome and one quart of water. Put all the ingredients in a pot and bring them to a simmer. Wait until it cools down and then strain it and drink 2 cups per day.
- To increase the HDL level and lower the LDL take 1 garlic capsule or eat garlic cloves twice a day.
