There are several types of cough. In the case of expectorant cough, called productive cough, there are some specific symptoms and, thus, suitable treatments for each one. In this article we’ll show how to make an excellent homemade cough syrup that removes phlegm in the lungs.
This recipe is a very effective way to get rid of mucus in the lungs and has no contraindications for children. The ingredients needed are:
• a tablespoon of marshmallow root
• one tablespoon of flaxseed
• a tablespoon of sage
• a sliced lemon
• a cup of water
• a cup of brown sugar
Put water to boil in a pot, add sugar and stir until it completely melts. Add the remaining ingredients, mix well and take the pot off the stove. Leave to infuse for 15 minutes then strain and pour the liquid into a glass jar.
Drink one tablespoon of syrup three times a day until you notice that you feel better. The syrup must be kept in the fridge.
